Suboxone/Subutex

Subutex and Suboxone (Buprenorphine + naloxone) allow prompt interruption of the addictive cycle of using opiates.

  • Medically monitored induction to Suboxone after completing evaluation and assessment.
  • Respectful and discrete daily medication use in privacy and comfort of home.
  • Ease of daily administration of the medication.
  • Prompt relief of distressing symptoms of opiate withdrawal.
  • Safety of Suboxone in preventing unintentional opiate overdose harm when used as directed.
  • Absence of usual opiate sedation, allowing again the clarity of thinking for healthy choices.
  • Blockade of opiate receptors with Suboxone prevents other opiates from exerting their effects and tends to diminish the pleasurable effects of other opiates during a relapse event.
  • Side effects are generally mild and tend to lessen with continued use, but might include mild headache, nausea and constipation.

Gateway Counseling’s Medical Director, Dr. Jerome D. Dirkers, MD, is trained and experienced in the use of Suboxone since 2005 and provides Gateway’s Client’s with the unique dimension of ambulatory detoxification for opiate dependence.
