Alcoholics Anonymous (AA Spokane) - AA is a fellowship of people who share their experiences to help each other recover from alcohol use. Meetings are available throughout Spokane County. Check the meeting schedule to see if a meeting is open to anyone or closed.
Narcotics Anonymous (NA Spokane) – NA offers peer support for anyone struggling with drug use. Check the meeting schedule to see if a particular meeting is open to anyone or closed.
Recovery Dharma - Recovery Dharma is a peer-led program that uses Buddhist principles like mindfulness, meditation, compassion, and self-inquiry to support recovery from addiction of all kinds. Meetings are welcoming to people of any (or no) faith background, and focus on building self-awareness and community as tools for healing.
SMART Recovery Spokane - SMART Recovery is a science-based, peer-support program that focuses on self-management and practical tools instead of the 12 steps. Meetings are open to anyone looking for support with substance use or addictive behaviors. SMART Recovery emphasizes building motivation, coping with urges, managing thoughts and behaviors, and living a balanced life.
Peer Spokane - Peer Spokane is a peer-run recovery center that provides free, supportive services for people affected by substance use and mental health challenges. Programs include one-on-one peer coaching, drop-in support, recovery groups, housing and employment assistance, and connections to community resources. All services are led by people with lived experience of recovery, creating a welcoming and non-judgmental environment.
Community-Minded Recovery Cafe - Community-Minded Recovery Café is a peer-based program in Spokane that provides a safe, supportive space for people in recovery. Members can participate in peer support groups (“Recovery Circles”), classes, volunteer opportunities, and shared meals that encourage connection and community. The café model is built around reducing isolation and supporting long-term recovery in a welcoming environment.
Al-Anon & Nar-Anon - Al-Anon and Nar-Anon are free peer-support groups for family members and friends affected by a loved one’s drinking or drug use. These groups provide understanding, coping strategies, and a supportive community.
Treatment Programs (non-Gateway)
Frontier Behavioral Health - Frontier Behavioral Health is one of Spokane’s largest community-based providers, offering a wide range of services for people with substance use and mental health needs. In addition to outpatient counseling and psychiatric care, Frontier provides crisis services, case management, housing support, and specialized programs for youth, adults, and families. Many services are available to individuals with Medicaid.
New Horizon - New Horizon Care Centers offers substance use and mental health treatment in Spokane, with services that include detox, inpatient, and outpatient counseling. They provide co-occurring treatment for individuals with both substance use and mental health needs, and have specialized programs for pregnant women and mothers with young children. Moms are able to have their babies with them during inpatient treatment, making recovery more accessible for families. Many programs accept Medicaid.
Sober Living & Recovery Housing
Oxford House - An Oxford House is a shared residence where people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction can live together and support each other in a drug and alcohol-free environment.There is no house manager or outside authority. Oxford House members share the house responsibilities. An Oxford House member can stay as long as they like, provided they stay drug and alcohol free, are not disruptive, and pay their share of house expenses.
New Horizon Care Centers: Isabella House - Isabella House, a six-month inpatient program, serves women who have children and/or are pregnant and who suffer the effects of substance use and abuse. Their services (e.g., parenting programs, therapeutic childcare, group/individual therapy, life/employment skills, HIV/AIDS education, transitional housing, etc.) develop and amplify each client's parenting and life skills.

Professionally trained volunteers and staff are available to provide emotional support 24 hours a day, and offer local treatment resources for substance abuse, problem gambling and mental health as well as to other community services.
